Muscat: Konkani tribute song to late King of Oman by Jane Ida Pinto set to premiere

Muscat, Jan 10: To offer love and respect to the late King of the Sultanate of Oman Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, an exceptional and sentimental song titled 'Amar Tum Sultan Qaboos' in Konkani has been composed. The song is scheduled for world premiere on Sunday January 10 at 6 pm (IST) on YouTube.

A great leader, a man of strength and vision, peacemaker, Sultan Qaboos will long be remembered by future generations, even after his final return to the soil of the Sultanate, for his prosperous reign. He reshaped Oman into a sparkling oasis of peace and stability in the turbulent region. The Sultanate is today a prosperous, secure is a monument to his decades of singular resolve and sweat.

The passing of Sultan Qaboos bin Said al-Said on January 10, 2020 truly marked the end of an era - in fact, the end of one of the most remarkable periods of development of any region in the world's history. In his nearly 50 years on the throne, Sultan Qaboos was the singular architect of Oman’s transition from a near-medieval society to today’s modern country and a powerful force in transforming the region to one exponentially richer, more powerful than ever before.

Omanis called him 'Baba' (Father) because he looked after them as his own children. They cried when they heard the news of the King's unfortunate demise.

The King gave special attention and guidance to the expatriate community in the Sultanate of Oman and hence expatriates regarded him as the guardian and protector.

'Amar Tum Sultan Qaboos' is a special song in Konkani language, infused with sentiments and deep feelings. Konkani music world's versatile music composer Roshan D'Souza, Anjelore has composed the tune and music for the song. Jane Ida Pais Pinto, known as Muscat Konkani community's nightingale, has sung the song and given true life to the whole song. Clarence, Kaikamba has written lyrics and Narayana Raj Mangalore has done the editing of the video.

Sultan Qaboos had given special attention to tourism and preserving the beauty of Oman and hence careful thought has been given to cover the beauty of Oman so that the viewers of this video enjoy the charming beauty of the magical country. Indeed, this video will be a perfect tribute to the beloved King and guardian of humanity and nature.

To make sure that the non-Konkani speaking people to understand the meaning of the song, subtitles in English and Arabic have been presented along with the song.

This is a special song and a great tribute to the great leader, king, and perfect human being. Every viewer, be it Konkani speaking or non-Konkani speaking, Omani or non-resident, is sure to enjoy every second of the song.

    I commend Clarence Kaikamba & Jane Ida Pinto for offering a befitting tribute to the late King of Oman H.M. Sultan Qaboos , an amazing leader that history has ever seen. Apart from building a nation from scratch to a Super Nation, he played a vital role in bringing peace in the Middle East during his tenure as the Sultan for 50 years. His immense contribution not only for his nation, but also for the entire world is incredible! Remembering him on his 1st death anniversary is a finest thought. Undoubtedly with the lyrics scripted by renowned writer Clarence Kaikamba, melodious singing by Oman’s nightingale Jane Ida Pinto & music by Konkan’s A.R.Rahman Roshan D’Souza Angelore will create a history in Konkani music for sure.
