Mangaluru: TYS, PU college students accorded warm welcome by staff, teachers

Mangaluru, Jan 7: The students of The Yenepoya School (TYS) and PU College were welcomed back with much zeal and enthusiasm by the teachers and staff. The institution opened up for physical classes from January 7 for Grade 10 and 2nd PUC.

The institution has been awaiting the return of students and has been preparing for the same for weeks and has implemented a number of measures to keep the campus COVID free for their students and staff. A covid test was made compulsory and with the support of the Yenepoya University, free of charge.



The Yenepoya University set up a number of covid test booths in school and arrangements for the test were made accordingly from January 2 to 6, where all the staff and students of grade 10 and 2nd PUC were tested.

A total of 365 staff and students have been tested so far. All social distancing measures were in place with floor markings and appropriate seating instructions. The principal of The Yenepoya School and PU College Joseph Mechirath and the campus director, Mishria Javeed stated that they were more than waiting to welcome the students back to school as they had missed them. They also added that ‘safety is first’ and all safety measures have been taken to keep staff and students safe.
