UAE court fines driver Dh 4,700

Dubai, Jan 6: young Asian origin was rewarded a fine of Dh 4,700 by the Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Misdemeanour court after he failed to returned a car borrowed from his friend initially for three days.

It is reported that he refused to give back the car and committed several traffic violations with the borrowed car that amounted the fine of Dh 4,700.

The complainant approached the RAK Misdemeanour court requesting his car, which was valued at Dh 6,500, to be returned to him and requested the court to order the defendant to pay the Dh4,700 fine along with court charges and lawyer’s fees.

The defendant was pronounced guilty of breach of honesty and embezzlement of his friend’s car and the court convicted him for causing moral and financial loss to his friend.

The accused was not present in court when the verdict was given.
