The old method of a large bin, at specific locations, with modification would be better according to me.Have 2 big bins one for dry and one for wet waste, and a person to monitor that citizens put the garbage in the correct bin( for the initial few months). This would be much easier and cleaner for MCC to collect and convenient for citizens to dispose waste at their convenience, rather than wait for the house to house collectors. It would be much cheaper also as less manpower would be required. The extra people can be redeployed for brooming the streets which is not seen in many areas at present.

Have we citizens delayed paying SGST/CGST, property tax or IT ? If the Corporation at all keeps pending, it should have been the payment to political beneficiaries and the staff at the corporation. Why keep payments pending amounting to several crores ?

Yes, Anthony Waste Waste Handling Cell is owed sum amounting to several crores by Mangalore Corporation. The job of collecting waste is done by very poor people. If payments are not received by the company, these poor people have nothing to eat or to feed their children.

Let us not be blind/deaf/mute towards their problems.

Do you agree about keeping payments pending for over years ? From where will the company pay the workers if they did not received their dues ?

Please understand their situation. Will the corporation staff come to work if they are not paid their salary ? Or, will you keep quiet if the garbage in front of your house is not cleared ?

    Bala,

If children are not willing to look after the old parents and leave them on servants' mercy to run the house while children work away from home and send their salary, servants are owners, old parents should follow what the servants order. Else, they won't even get food in time.

Similarly, if the authorities don't know what to do with the garbage because all of those holding positions are hardly high school pass, Waste Management company will rule the roost. Bring a technology that lifts the garbage mechanically and dries it and transforms it into compost, in a matter of a week, who wants Anthony Waste Management Company ? You know what ? When crores are paid to handle it manually, the authorities get their generous kick-back, why would they use a technology ? That is when the the garbage mafia rules the roost.

    Got it ?
