Mangaluru, Nov 27: Former MLC and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) spokesperson Ivan D'Souza on Friday November 27, said that the BJP-led state government should provide Rs 5 lac compensation from the chief minister's relief fund to BPL families of those who died due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking at a press meet held in district Congress office here, Ivan alleged that the BJP government in the state has not made any preparation to face the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. "Even the district administrations of undivided districts have failed to prepare to face the next wave of Covid-19. What is your preparation to contain the spread of Covid-19 in the state?" he questioned.

"The government has not made any preparations yet. The government has also withdrawn the order to provide 50 percent of beds in private hospitals to Covid-19 patients," he added.

Alleging that the number of Covid-19 tests conducted by the district administration is absolutely bogus, Ivan suggested the district administration should increase the number of testing. He also said that the government and district administration is not taking strict action against people who are not adhering to the guidelines issued to check and contain the spread of Covid-19.

"The government should take measures to upgrade the infrastructure in PHCs and should set up rehabilitation centres to monitor health," he said.

He also demanded that the government in the state should provide Covid-19 vaccine free of cost to the people in the entire state. Instead of charging for the Covid-19 test, the government should even conduct tests free of cost for the people.

Later, member of Dakshina Kannada district Congress Covid-19 Helpline (Arogya Hasta) and businessman Vivekraj Poojary donated ten pushcarts to the needy. The beneficiaries are Mohammed Aman, Varija K, Padmavathi Kamathara, Kiran Valencia, Yakub Adyar, Bhavanishankar Yeyadi, K Chandrika Kodikal, Mohammed Farooq, Renuka Panjimogaru and Nazima Arkula.

They have stop all these press meet and protests. These things help to spread the virus. In the pictures I can see most of them not wearing the mask and not even following social distancing rules. Why authorities not fining them. I thinks rules and fines are only for common people.

***Drona asked Ekalavya for a guru Dakshina that a student owes his teacher upon the completion of his training. Ekalavya replied that there was nothing he would not give his teacher. Drona asked for Ekalavya's right thumb, knowing that its loss will hamper Ekalavya's ability to pursue archery.***

The way and the speed with which it spreads, Covid 19 will soon be like common flue , but only more lethal. When millions get affected, whom do we give 5 lakh each from the tax payers money. Is there an end to it ? Better think twice before jumping to please people. We should make better use of tax money , it is not kept for public distribution .

His leader during LS 2019 was saying he will 6000/-straight into into all poor people's account
When asked about the total he could not count.Later he said he was confident that he would not win ..so he said that. Also during initial Covid rage, he said put Rs 10000 odd to all migrants and poor families account and help them spend. All his ideas were 'Not to bend your back ..idea'...which he has got from somewhere.
Same case Ivan Lobo...Go on giving...whose money ?No accountability??
India is in this state because of 'freebies culture','vote bank appeasement' and all such things.
One should not promote all these stupid ideas. The idea must be to promote self respect and help each stand on their legs independently ..do hard work and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Keeping public in Poverty is their motto I guess,Instead of 5 Lac or giving them a wheeled cart why not they think something productive like a government job instead of putting their life in much more misery.
