Udupi, Nov 27: "There is pressure to give minister position to C P Yogeshwar. He has taken lot of responsibilities. He is also aspiring to become a minister. I also feel that he should get minister position," said deputy chief minister (DCM) Dr Ashwath Narayan.

Ashwath was speaking to scribes in the city on Friday, November 27, where he had come to take part in the first ‘Gram Swarajya Convention’ on the subject of cabinet extension in the state.

Ashwath further said, "The top brasses of center and chief minister B S Yediyurappa will have discussion on this matter. Cabinet extension issue has attracted a lot of attention now. It is a very complex issue. We will come to know about the extension within a short time. Root BJP members are sad. But party has to take everyone along. Those who have migrated from Congress and JD(S) are also responsible for BJP forming the government. So all have to cooperate as a family. In BJP, there is no scope for discrimination."

With regards to the matter of inauguration of C T Ravi's office, the DCM said, "Cabinet meeting was decided in a hurry. No one knew about it. However, the inauguration of the office of C T Ravi was decided earlier. So ministers had gone for that function."

Speaking on the subject of giving OBC reservation to Lingayat community, Ashwath said, "I do not have much information with regards to this subject. This has come up only on Thursday, November 26. This matter will be discussed in the Cabinet on Friday, November 27. I am on tour of Gram Swaraj conventions. A decision will be taken based on the necessity of everyone. The government will give whatever is required for various communities."
