Panaji: Hindu samiti demands ban on Chinese crackers with Hindu deity

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Nov 10: Raising a matter of concern, the Hindu Janajagruti Samitit (HJS) has appealed to chief minister Pramod Sawant to ban Chinese made fire crackers with Hindu deities and national heroes pictures in it. The samiti has emailed a memorandum regarding the same.

"The pictures of national heroes and deities are printed on the covers of some crackers and when these crackers are burnt the torn pictures get strewn all over. They are trodden upon. Such a denigration of national heroes and deities hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus," the memorandum read as stated by Manoj Solanki, HJS convener.

He also added that the centre should continue the ban imposed last year on Chinese crackers.
