Udupi, Oct 30: Belapu gram panchayat has been experiencing several thefts of late.

To tackle the problem, a workforce of young men had been formed to keep vigil and act against thefts since sometime.

When batteries from the solar lamp were being stolen at around 5 am on Friday October 30, some youth belonging to the workforce succeeded in catching hold of the thief. The information was immediately conveyed to the panchayat president.

Panchayat president Dr Deviprasad Shetty, who immediately came there, gathered information about serial thefts and handed the accused to the police in the presence of villagers.

    Unemployment problem in India is getting worse day by day. Looks like a small time thief. No one has guts to question politicians who do daylight robbery and hit them with sticks. Hope that they release him soon and can lead a better life.

    If you know anyone unemployed, please let me know... I have few hundred jobs available with me in my village near Kundapura in my paddy fields... We are preparing for Suggi now and the work is available throughout the year. Even freshers can come and join me in agriculture, I shall teach them how to do agriculture along with salary .....

    At least from here onwards, let us not justify the bad things by giving an excuse of unemployment

    This guy wants easy life with out any hard work. He needs to be put to hard labour for atleast five years and learn and earn the dignity of hard labour.

    Keep him in the jail to clean the toilets for 10 years at least put him behind the BAR under the sections POSCO or GOONDA act no court no JUDGE NO VAKEEL NO BAIL
