Udupi: Good Samaritan rescues helpless woman living at city bus stand

Udupi, Oct 25: A helpless woman who was living at the city bus stand for last three days was on Sunday October 25 rescued by good Samaritan Vishu Shetty Ambalpady with the help of women police.

The woman, identified as Jalaja Acharti (50) was rescued on Sunday evening and admitted to Sakhi One Stop centre, where she will stay until she finds a home.

The lady is a widow and her daughters are married. She said she was afraid to live alone and was staying at the city bus stand.

She is a resident of Brahmavar. While her husband's home was in Kunjalu, she is a native of Uppoor.

The lady said that miscreants robbed her of Rs 2,000 in cash, mobile and earrings. She has suffered wounds on her ears too.

Vishu Shetty Ambalpady who helped the lady has appealed to her relatives to contact Sakhi One Stop centre or women's police station.

    Married daughters do not care for mother then what about issueless women? Good job well done . I see love of God in these people and this lady is lucky to get in touch with them. God bless them.
