Mangaluru, Oct 1: From the exotic far east of Asia to the land down under, across the deserts of Arabia to the shores of the Mediterranean, from the Scottish highlands and the Nordic Fjords, via the scenic Alps to the Italian Dolomites to the new world of America across the Atlantic Ocean, the annual Novem Jevan contest brought together Mangaluorean catholics on September 8 and connected and reminded everyone about their roots in Mangaluru!

Their roots are that of speaking Konkani, of carrying the Portuguese family names, the humble beginning of their ancestors in farming, their bravery in captivity in the 17th century and of course their love for the food, culture and history! May the Mangy exploratory spirit continue in them to discover more lands, more cultures across the seven continents and the seven seas and may they continue to influence their neighbourhood, cities they live in with their great Mangy roots!
