Gurugram man held for killing father


Gurugram, Sep 30 (IANS): A man was arrested on the charge of battering his father to death with a brick following an argument at Dundahera village in Gurugram district on Wednesday morning, police said.

Police said 37-year-old accused Dev Anand alias Deva, who is unemployed and in depression, fatally hit his father Dharamvir Yadav (65) repeatedly with a brick on his head.

"Around 6 am, an argument erupted between the two. In a fit of rage, Dev attacked his father. Though the victim's wife Santosh Devi tried to save her husband, but in vain. Yadav suffered severe head injuries and bled to death," Udyog Vihar police station SHO Satbir Singh said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that both had an altercation over the same issue a few days ago as well. Dev nursed a grouse that his father didn't give him money to start a business. Yadav plied an auto-rickshaw after retirement from Haryana Roadways.

"We have registered a case of murder and arrested the accused," the SHO said.
