Kasargod: Excise squad seizes 25 kg ganja, two arrested

Kasargod, Sep 30: The excise squad of Nileshwar arrested two persons who were found to be in possession of 25 kg ganja. The arrests were made on Tuesday September 29.

The arrested persons have been identified as Abdul Samad (39) from Anangur in Kasargod and Rafiq (41) a resident of Udumaa Pallikkere Kallingal.

Nileshwar range excise officials were checking vehicles near the railway gate at Nileshwar Pllikkere when they found that a car which came that way had five kg ganja. Two persons travelling by the car were arrested and questioned. In an operation conducted later, 20 kg ganja was seized from the residence of Abdul Samad at Anangur. The accused told the officials that they had brought ganja from Mangaluru. The car was impounded.
