Bengaluru: Heavy rainfall predicted - Yellow alert in ten districts including DK, Udupi

Bengaluru, Sep 26: The meteorological department has said that as per current indications, heavy rainfall along with lightning and thunder is likely in coastal districts and north interior Karnataka on September 26 and 27.

As heavy rainfall is expected in Yadagiri, Vijayapura, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Gadag, Dharwad, Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Dakshina Kannada districts, yellow alert has been issued for these districts.

As southwest monsoon is active in coastal districts, torrential rainfall is expected in coastal districts. Rains have receded in southern interior parts of the state. A few places in districts like Ballari, Bengaluru rural, Bengaluru city, Chitradurga, Mandya, Mysuru ad Shivamogga might get some rainfall along with thunder and lightning.

Karwar registered the highest rainfall of 11 cm in the state while Bhatkal received four cm rainfall. Kollur received three cm rainfall.
