Udupi: DC inspects landslide-hit area around apartment in Manipal

Udupi, Sep 22: Udupi deputy commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha on Tuesday September 22 visited the private commercial apartment, which is in a dangerous condition after a landslide took place next to it.

The apartment herein Manipal was in a risk due to the landslide. The landslide was noticed on the evening of Monday September 21. As an immediate action, the district administration issued notice to the apartment residents to evacuate immediately. The national highway was also closed due to the same reason and only one way traffic was allowed.

The DC on Tuesday checked the permission letters and related documents of the apartment. Based on the documents and the build quality of the building, a decision will be taken on the building.

The apartment was built in the year 2004-2005.
