New Delhi, Aug 13: Former President Pranab Mukherjee is confirmed to be haemodynamically stable by his son, Abhijit Mukherjee on Wednesday, August 12.

Abhijit Mukherjee took to his official Twitter handle to announce the condition of his father. "With All Your Prayers, My Father is haemodynamically stable now. I request everyone to continue with your prayers & good wishes for his speedy recovery. Thank You," he said in a tweet.

On August 10, Pranab Mukherjee (84) was admitted to Army's Research and Referral Hospital, in a critical condition.

Medical tests revealed a large clot in Mukherjee's brain for which he underwent emergency surgery.

On Wednesday, Army's Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi in a press release had stated that Mukherjee's health condition 'continues to remain critical', adding that the former President is haemodynamically stable and on a ventilator.

On August 10, Pranab Mukherjee had tweeted, "On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID-19 today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19."

Mukherjee was a senior Congress leader before he was elected as India's 13th President. He served as President from July 2012 to 2017. In 2019, he was conferred with the prestigious Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour.
