Mangaluru, Aug 7: Sharavan Singh (24), a worker of Rajasthan origin, was arrested recently after he tried to steal the car belonging to his employer.

Sharavan Singh had been working for a Mangaluru-based entrepreneur Ashok, since the last ten years. He also functioned as driver as and when necessary. A few days back, he informed the employer that he wanted to leave his job. On Tuesday, his dues were paid and he was discharged from duty. After collecting money, Sharavan reportedly went to Ashok's residence and lied to his wife that her husband had asked him to bring his car. He took the key from her and went away towards Rajasthan on national highway 66.

Ashok who came to know about this, contacted his friend, Ramanath Pai from Mulky, and requested him to somehow get the car back. Pai got in touch with his contacts and saw that the car was stopped at Hejamady tollgate.

On the basis of Ashok's complaint, the police have taken Sharavan Singh into custody and registered a case against him.
