Teachers in Goa to rejoin work from Aug 3

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Aug 3: Close to 12,000 school teachers from primary to higher secondary level will be returning to work on Monday, Aug 3. One of the reason is that there has been no circular from the Goa government on the continuation of work from home arrangement for the educators.

Earlier in July, following the repeated requests, the state government had agreed with Centre's directives after which the DOE issued a circular allowing teachers to work from home until Jul 31.

Following public holiday on August 1 due to Eid and then a Sunday, the teachers were required to join work on Monday.

Meanwhile, the teachers are not thrilled about getting back to work as the COVID cases continue to be on the rise in the state.
