Goa reports 198 COVID-19 cases in single day

Panaji, Jul 15: Goa on Wednesday reported the highest ever spike in COVID-19 cases with 198 people testing positive, while there was no death reported during the day.

As per the state health department’s bulletin, 67 people were sent home after their recovery from COVID-19 infection from various COVID Care Centres.

Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant has already announced Janata Curfew in the state from 8 pm to 6 am from Wednesday until August 10. The state will also have a complete lockdown on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

During the day on Wednesday, 198 people tested positive in the state for COVID-19 infection.

The department said that out of 6,064 samples tested during the day, 2,374 came back negative and the reports of 3,492 are awaited.
