Kasargod: 44 people test positive for coronavirus infection

Kasargod, Jul 14: Over 44 people have tested positive for the coronavirus here on Tuesday. While 20 of them were infected locally, 15 had arrived from abroad and nine people arrived from other states.

Of the total people infected, nine are from Chengala, six from Kasargod, four from Chemnad, three each from Madhur, Uduma and Manjeshwar, two each from Mogral, Pallikere and Karadka and one person each from Madikai, Badiadka, Kanhanghad, Ajanoor, Padanna, Valiaparamba and Kumble.

A total of 694 people have been infected in the district so far and 448 have recovered. Earlier in the last week on Wednesday, five people were discharged from the hospital.

Two people each were infected from a contact in Manjeshwar, Chengala, Chemnad and Kasargod. Eight people were infected by contact at Chengala and three in Madhur. One of the persons contracted the virus from a contact in Mogral gram panchayat limits.

Meanwhile, 6,317 people are under observation in the district and 388 people are in isolation wards.
