Bengaluru: Banker Vasudeva Maiya suicide - FIR registered against 11

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jul 9: In connection with the suicide of Vasudeva Maiya, former chief executive officer (CEO) of Sri Guru Raghavendra Cooperative Bank at Basavanagudi here, a first information report (FIR) naming 11 persons has been registered in Subrahmanyapura police station.

Rashmi, daughter of Vasudeva Maiya, has filed a complaint in the said police station, stating that her father ended his life because of mental harassment caused by those who raised loans from the bank and defaulted in repayment. The FIR was based on this complaint. Current CEO of the bank, Santosh Kumar, Ravi Aithal, Rakesh, Sripad Hegde, Prashanth and others have been named by Rashmi as her father's tormentors.

"Loans were granted to several people as permitted by members of the bank's board. But during the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) audit in 2019, proper data was not provided to the auditors. During the RBI inspection, my father was forced to sign certain documents. Even though the bank's head office is located near Nettakallppa Circle, a case was registered about the irregularities in Banaswadi police station. This has given rise to suspicion," Rashmi said in her complaint.

"My father did not have much knowledge about banking transactions. Therefore, he had provided his computer password to his colleagues. Now, my father has been held responsible for irregularities he did not commit. Therefore, my father ended his life. I request you to take this death note on record and initiate action on the basis of the death note," she has urged.

The Subrahmanyapura police, who have registered FIR against Raghunath, Reddy Brothers, Kumaresh, Rajath, Tallam and some others on the basis of the death note, have begun investigation.

If he doesn't know about banking transactions means he is good for nothing
He was a CEO and I hope he got this position because of wastha (influence)
Otherwise in this modern era without thorough knowledge nobody can become CEO this is not his mistake
The one who selected him for this position must be held.
