J&K records highest single day surge of 330 Covid cases


Srinagar, Jul 8 (IANS): Three hundred thirty persons tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday in Jammu and Kashmir, recording the highest one day surge in COVID-19 cases as the total number crossed 9,000 in the union territory.

A statement issued by the information and public relations department said, 330 tested positive on Wednesday, 59 in Jammu division and 271 in Kashmir division as the total number of Covid patients reached 9,261 in the union territory.

The single day surge of 330 positive cases recorded on Wednesday is the highest so far in J&K.

Five Covid-19 patients succumbed to the virus. Total number of people killed by the dreaded virus in J&K has reached 149.

A total of 5,567 patients have completely recovered while the total number of active cases in J&K is 3,545.

Out of these, 563 are in Jammu division while 2,982 are in Kashmir division.
