Kaup: Illegal slaughterhouse raided, ten cattle rescued

Kaup, Jul 7: Kaup station police raided an illegal slaughterhouse at Mallaru Guddekeri on Tuesday morning, July 7 and rescued ten cattle about to be slaughtered by the butchers.

Rs 30,000 cash, cows and calves, tools used for the slaughter and a bike parked by the suspects were confiscated in the raid.

Staff Ravindra, Arun, Manjunath, Anand, Sandesh and Parashuram jointly conducted the operation on the basis of definite clues received by Kaup SI Rajashekar B from beat police personnel.

Eight suspects who were running the illegal slaughterhouse including Abdul Sattar, Nazim, Shamshuddin, Hasanabba, Shahid and Arif fled when they saw the police personnel.

A case in this connection is registered in Kaup police station. A search for the accused is in progress. The cattle rescued by the police are shifted to Neelavara byre.
