Bantwal: Carmel College Modankap organizes national webinar on online academic activities

Bantwal, Jun 19: The IQAC cell of Carmel College, Modankap in association with the Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru on June 16 organized a one-day national level online FDP on the topic 'Adapting ourselves to the online Academic Activities'.

Sunil Kumar Rai, assistant professor Department of Civil Engineering, SCEM, Mangaluru and Duddela Sai Prashanth, assistant professor Department of Computer Science & Engineering, SCEM, Mangaluru were the resource persons.

Dr Sr Latha Fernandes AC, principal Carmel College, Modankap welcomed and introduced the speaker to the participants.



While emphasizing the importance of Faculty Development Programme, Professor Sunil touched upon the following subjects:

• Effect of pandemic Covid-19 on the education sector;
• How to explore online platforms in the field of teaching;
• Use of Google tools like Google Drive, Google Sheet, Google Form, Google Classrooms;
• How to conduct online classes using online platforms;
• How to create a Google Form to conduct quiz or test;
• How to conduct a Webinar using online platforms;
• How to conduct online test or assignments; and
• How to generate automatic online E-certificate with emails

Professor Prashanth Duddela, Department of Computer Science & Engineering briefed about the different online platforms available for the conduction of classes and webinars. He explained how to use Zoom, Cisco Web-ex, Google Meet etc.

The webinar lasted for three hours and was very interactive and informative. It captivated teaching fraternities of various institutions. Around 220+ participants pooled into Google Meet and 100+ attended the live streaming on YouTube. It received humongous appreciation from its audience. The presentation concluded with the resource speaker attending to and answering a series of questions raised by the participants.

Pooja Shetty, IQAC co-ordinator compered the programme, Anziline Pinto, lecturer in Commerce delivered the vote of thanks.
