Udupi: St Mary Institute plant saplings in college premises

Media Release

Udupi, Jun 18: To promote conservation of the environment, St Mary College planted saplings in the premises. "We live in critical situations due to human greed. The earth has become a nest of sickness due to the destruction of nature. Creating awareness among the educated youth that they are a part of nature and have to conserve it if they want to live a healthy life is the need of the hour,” said St Mary College, principal Dr Herald Ivan Monis. He also planted saplings in the college premises to serve as a role model to his students.

The programme was held jointly by the Green Teacher forum of the college, national service project NCC, Rovers and Rangers and Youth Red Cross. College teaching staff and non-teaching staff joined hands, planted a sapling each and made the programme a success.
