Bengaluru corporator Imran Pasha arrested for violating lockdown norms with roadshow

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Jun 7: BBMP corporator and JD(S) member Imran Pasha was arrested by the police here on Sunday June 7 for allegedly violating coronavirus lockdown guidelines in a containment zone.

Imran Pasha, corporator of the Padarayanapura ward, had reportedly violated the lockdown and social distancing guidelines while returning home from a hospital, where he had been admitted after testing positive for coronavirus. His discharge from the hospital on Sunday was celebrated by his followers who welcomed him with garlands and burst fire crackers.

Instead of going straight home as per doctor's orders and following home quarantine, Pasha allegedly participated in a procession undertaken by his followers, violating both lockdown restrictions and social distancing guidelines.

Padarayanapura area is a containment zone which was sealed after several coronavirus cases were reported here.

Following the incident, Pasha was arrested by the JJ Nagar police and booked under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

The police have also imposed Section 144 in Padarayanapura and completely sealed down the area. The police who arrived at the spot chased away everyone who was out in the streets. Two KSRP and Garuda squads have been deployed at the spot.

Why Health Minister Sriramulu was not arrested while he was also going on a procession without following lockdown rules. Why this discrimination?

May be this corporator & his followers took inspiration from Health minister’s rally .
If Police would have arrested health minister then , these people would not have dared to arrange such rally .
Both the rally‘s were wrong to take place in such pandemic situation, law should be same for all.

Procession held by Sriramalu Health Minister 5 days ago should have same law and order also that goes mesage to all of indian citizen that land of law equal to Minister to Corporate Member other wise only police exercise law and order on weaker section.

One country one law right? how it differ to Ministers or powerfull people different than poor and weaker section of the society?

who ever violate law should be punished equally without seeing his financial status, language, caste, religion , black or white.

Wow this is height of hypocrisy. When Mr. Sadananda Gowda arrived from Delhi to Bengalore, he walked away home straight. Health Minister Sriramulu had a rally with so many people around him without following any restrictions, that was fine. Now a Corporator does it, he is been arrested.
Karkala in a rehabilitation center, BJP youth celebrate Birthdays without following norms.
So if you are from ruling party, whichever it may be, you are exempted from following any rules. But if you are not in their team, you are punished.
What a policy ? Amazingly out standing. What an example of implementing law and order without being biased.
Police should have arrested all his followers and taken action against them too. Why didn't they do that?

Read the news properly. don't justify blindly. the doctors or the hospital authority strictly ordered him to go straight to his home .

did he involved in a fight against terrorist in J & K and returning home ? so that this idiot people celebrating ? what a shame he is doing utter nonsense and people like you defending by giving examples. police has done their job as he violated the rules. as corporator he should respect the law and he must convince his supporters to fallow the law. he should be kept in jail until corona cases become zero.

Fault lies - primarily - not with the Corporator, but with the idiots who "celebrated" his discharge from the hospital. They too should have been put behind bars. But that is not to say that the Corporator comes out clean; he should have deferred return from the hospital till his so called supporters left or he could have called the Police. But which politician does not want publicity?

This is not the time to celebrate but to repent. Instead of Thanking God for curing him he is holding processions to show off. Who made him corporator. Disgusting.

Do not follow what BJP is doing. BJP is in Power and they will decide whom to arrest and whom to let go free, Being a corporator you should know all this. You also will do the same same thing when you are in power. First you set your house in order. Do not spread corona virus.
