An image stating that the district commissioner has announced complete lockdown in Udupi district on Sunday June 7 was being circulated in WhatsApp and other social media platforms since morning on Saturday June 6. The viral image

This is a false image and no lockdown will be imposed in the district on June 7. The normal lockdown rules will be followed. As date was not mentioned in my earlier video, this confusion is created. As per the state government orders, there will be no lockdown in the district on June 7. Curfew will be imposed from 9 pm to 5 am," he said.
