Bengaluru: Sriramulu warns private hospitals charging exorbitant for corona treatment

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jun 6: Health minister Sriramulu, warned private hospitals to provide treatment for coronavirus infection at the rate fixed by the government. He said that the government is ready to take strict action against private hospitals found to be charging more.

Sriramulu said that there are vacant beds in government hospitals. “But many, who do not have information about these things, go to private hospitals for treatment. There are allegations that they demand excessive charges. I will hold discussions on this issue in a couple of days,” he promised.

He said that the government will not allow private hospitals to indulge in money-making business in the name of COVID-19. He also stated that the people not having BPL cards also will be provided with treatment.

On the issue of choosing candidate for Rajya Sabha election, he said that state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel, chief minister B S Yediyurappa, and core committee members will decide on the issue. He said that the issue of fielding two candidates will also be discussed and decided today. "Our leaders will undertake the work of assuaging the feelings of disgruntled leaders and everyone is bound by the decisions taken by the top leaders," he clarified.

Only issuing warning from air conditioned office doesn't work it needs effective governance and bold steps like Kerala or least like Odhisha Minister who drafted the new laws and provided full time facilities without causing any inconvenience to the citizens during the lock down.
In Karnataka BJP who are only good in 'operation Kamala' and resort politics and watching 'porn' in the assembly is only relied on centers directions that even don't have any clue taali, thali and mombati rituals.
If BJP has little concerns then it would have issued the government directives to all the private hospitals about the charges and fines in case if they not complied.

When the government themselves are negligence whom the citizen's can rely?

    Sriramulu Sir,

Just talking is not enough. Please note that hospitals are not provided PPE kits for professionals conducting tests that require close proximity with a patient. In such cases, what do the hospitals do ? Charge the PPE kit on the patient. How can a patient who has to bear the costs of all treatment also bear a kit that will be discarded after using once ?

Fist ensure sufficient basis essentials to the hospitals. Lets worry about charging after you do your part.
