Mumbai: 2 bodies found in restaurant's water tank, killer on loose

Mumbai, Jun 5: Lifeless bodies of two male staff were found in the water tank of a restaurant-cum-bar Shabari at Mira Road on Thursday night.

After the owner of the restaurant sensed a foul smell coming from his establishment, two bodies were discovered in the water tank. The Mira Road police reached the spot after the foul smell was reported at 10.30 pm. They then fished out the bodies of Naresh Pandit (52) and Haresh Shetty (48). The duo was employed as waiters in the restaurant located in Sheetal Nagar on MTNL road.

On investigating the bodies, stab wounds were discovered.

After being shut down due to lockdown the restaurant reopened to only provide takeaway.

A case in this regard has been registered and police are questioning the staff of the hotel.
