DK Shivakumar slams UP govt over migrant workers, says 'state not your private property'

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SD)

Bengaluru, May 26: Karnataka Congress lashed out heavily on the chief minister Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government terming it unconstitutional after the state said that the other states would require to seek permission to employ its natives. The criticism pointed that it lacked common sense and it would further add to the woes of the people.

Karnataka Congress president D K Shivakumar tweeted slamming the UP chief minister that UP is not a private property of his government.

"UP CM Yogi Adityanath's move to restrict hiring people of UP is unconstitutional & goes against the right to freedom of movement. Mr Yogi, please note that UP is not the private property of your govt. The people of UP don't need your govt's permission to work anywhere in India," Shivakumar tweeted.

In another tweet he said, "Mr Yogi doesn't understand the basic rules of governance in a democracy. Such actions lack common sense and will only make the people of UP suffer more. When it's convenient for BJP, it's One Nation, when it's not, its different states & different people Heights of hypocrisy!"

On Monday, May 25, the UP government stated that other states would require to seek permission to employ natives of the state.

The state expressed to have been upset as the migrant labourers were not taken care of by the states employing them in the wake of coronavirus lockdown. The UP government said that the workers are asset to the state and a panel would be set up to ensure their employment.

"They are our people and if some states want them back, they have to seek permission from the state government," he had said.

Due to the lack of oxygen at the Baba Raghav Das Medical College Hospital faced with outrage at the number of deaths at a Gorakhpur, the government of Uttar Pradesh said that the death of 60 children in five days is not an abnormal figure. “Seven deaths on average per day in this hospital is normal said state health minister and government spokesperson Sidharth Nath Singh.

As many as 26 migrant labourers had died in Auraiya, 200 kilometres from Lucknow. It is the same Yogi government which PM Modi handpicked to make 'Uttam Pradesh' was sending bodies of workers killed in black garbage bags of plastic on ice slabs in open truck. The ice melted.

It may be lack of Oxygen in government hospital in his own constituency that took nearly 30,000 children's deaths under this father son duo or migrant workers, dignity to human dead doesn't exist for this so called 'God Man'.
When migrant workers are begging for food, his government has asked MLA's to development funds for 'Gau Shala'. Also changed the labor laws and imposed six months ban on protest.

Pic truly reflects the humanitarian crisis n apathy of officials. If this doesn't shake the nation's conscience, what will?
CM Yogi think needs to remind of 'Ram Rajya', like then PM Vajpayee advised then CM Modi. Let's now forget that Kanndigas pay more than Rs 20,000 crores taxes to the center. In return these militant mob leader ruled states get major part of the cream.

We Kanndigas always respected the true meaning of 'Atithi Devo Bhava'. Today 7 out of 10 residence of Bangalore are non-Kanndigas.

I totally agree. The people get the government they deserve.

All I have to say is, As you sow, so you reap.

These things don't matter to the people of UP either way. They'll vote for Ram Mandir, not labour rights

It's an good idea of yogiji to introduce mandatory permission to seek work in other stàtes. By which able to keep record of each and everything if any unwanted things occured in any part of country. Better to introduce a single Identity Card for all individuals latter on it can be used for everywhere. We do not know how much illegal people working in india..by which balance will be disturbed in the way of unemployment of locals. All countries are having there own system easily identifiable.
