IOA President Batra nominates Rakesh Gupta as minutes recorder


New Delhi, May 25 (IANS): Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Narinder Batra on Monday nominated its joint secretary Rakesh Gupta as the official minutes recorder for all its Executive Committee meetings, Annual General Meeting and Special General Body Meeting.

In a letter to Gupta, Batra said: "As you are aware that the minutes of the IOA EC are to be made and circulated with 14 days of the meeting and that of AGM/SGM are to be made and circulated within 30 days of the meeting.

"Since the time I have taken over as President IOA i.e from December 2017. The minutes have not been sent on time even once and are delayed by months.

"Hence I have decided to nominate you as the official minute's recorder for all IOC EC meeting, IOA AGM and IOA SGM till such time the next elections are held in 2021," the letter from Batra read.

"Till now Baluni from IOA office takes control of video/audio recording and types the minutes based on the recordings done.

"After your nomination, the system that will be followed now will be that Baluni will draft the minutes and share them with you, then you will verify check and make corrections (if required) and share your final version of minutes...," it added.
