People violating home quarantine to face FIR: Palghar DC

Mumbai, Apr 9: Palghar district collector Kailash Shinde ordered the police in Vasai-Virar region to book anyone who was found to be violating the home quarantine order. Such individuals would be slapped charges under IPC Section 188.

As of Wednesday, 506 in the district were ordered home quarantine, but they defied the order and were found in markets.

Around 50 people were placed at Hotel Royal Garden and another 55 were at Hotel Suvi Palace on Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway in Vasai. The district has recorded four deaths, of which three were from Vasai, and a total 26 positive cases. Over 85 have been discharged from the hotels.
