Mangaluru: Customs, DRI, GST depts help 115 needy families at Tannirbavi, distribute ration kits

Mangaluru, Apr 8: The officers from Mangaluru Central GST, Customs departments, DRI, DGGI and retired officers of CBIC from Mangaluru, under the aegis of CBIC Karnataka COVID group, came together on Wednesday, April 8, to provide much needed help to poor and needy residing around Tannirbavi locality amid nationwide lockdown due to Covid-19 outbreak as part of their social responsibility.

The officers under the guidance of Baswaraj Nalegave, commissioner of Customs and Imamuddin Ahmad, commissioner of Central Tax, distributed dry ration kits that included grocery items and other essential commodities to the poor residing at the locality while maintaining social distancing.

Due to their active involvement, the officers and staff from both the departments were able to distribute dry ration kits that consisted of boiled rice, dosa rice, cooking oil, tea, and sugar to 115 needy families in that locality.
