Udupi, Apr 5: Udupi-Chikkmangaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje on Sunday April 5 distributed 1001 food kits prepared by the Sarvajaneka Ganeshosva Committee, Kadiyali and Asare Charitable Trust, Kadiyali to nearly 34 wards under Udupi City Municipal Council.

She joined hands with the volunteers of Sarvajaneka Ganeshosva Committee to distribute the meals to the needy. K Ragupathi Bhat, MLA of Udupi, Lalaji R Mendon, MLA of Kaup, Mattar Ratnakar Hedge, president, coastal development committee were present. Anish Pai and Amesh Pai of Aneesh Traders sponsored the food kits.

Shobha Karandlaje speaking to media persons on the occasion said, "Today we conducted a review meeting at DC office in Manipal with all the MLAs of Udupi district regarding the coronavirus situation and the measures carried under the leadership of DC G Jagadeesh. Three people have been tested positive for coronavirus. All are being treated and the people who have come in contact with them are under hospital and home quarantine.

"According to the information given by the DC and the district health department, one of the infected people came in contact with 100 people, a second person came in contact with 37 people and the third person came in contact with around three people. No new case has been reported so far in the district. Those who returned from abroad have completed 14 days of quarantine. All results are negative and we have resent the blood samples to the lab to get the confirmation for a second time," she added.

The state government is doing the work effectively through the district administration. The Prime Minister has requested Rs 1 crore from each member and Rs 1 lac towards the PM Cares relief fund. Even if the state government asked for funds we are ready to release them. It is most imperative at present is to win the war against the virus, instead of constructing roads or bridges," the MP stated.

"Every day the state government is conducting a video conference with district administration of Udupi. The state government, police officials, health department officials are putting their efforts fully in preventing the spread of the disease. Due to the efforts of people on the frontlines, the number of new cases is considerably less," she said. She also congratulated the doctors, the police, health professionals for their selfless service.

"Several Muslims who participated in Nizamuddin event are currently absconding. I am worried that they will spread the disease across the country. There were many people from Karnataka in the event whom we have not been able to trace. The central and state governments have ordered compulsory medical check-up for those who have returned from the Tablighi Jamaat event. Those who attended the event are required to immediately contact health or police department. However, some of them ignored the order," the MP said.

"There is information that Tablighi Jamaat organization has given a call to not give information in Siddique layout in Bengaluru, after positive case was found at that place. The assault on the Asha workers is condemnable, one community in society is not abiding by the rules. Those who do not abide by the health guidelines must be arrested. Karnataka government must term them as anti-nationals to prevent community spread," she demanded.

"I feel today in this country 'corona jihad' is prevailing. Today at Belagavi one patient hugged a doctor. These corona jihadis are blackmailing the doctors and nurses and continuing to spread terrorism. So the law has to take its course. Currently, the Muslim patients are required to be kept under quarantine and once the period ends, they should be imprisoned for a lifetime," MP Shobha said.

Responding to U T Khader's remark on politics over coronavirus, MP Shobha said, "All know who is politicising the matter. The members who attended the Tablighi convention are not surrendering, they have assaulted the Asha workers which shows their mentality.

"Kerala is the hotspot for the infection, several cases have been reported in the area. In terms of rendering help to the neighbouring state, fruits, vegetables, and even medical aid and doctors will be sent. But, we will not open the borders with Kerala," she asserted.

Kaup: Missing attendees of Tablighi Jamaat meet causing concern - Shobha Karandlaje

Kaup, Apr 5: "There is a great concern as some coronavirus-infected people who took part in the Tablighi Jamaat convention in new delhi are missing. Public has to trace them and hand over to police," urged MP Shobha Karandlaje

She was speaking after distributing food kits to migrant workers at Kaup town municipality campus on Sunday.

"Corona jihad is being staged through Delhi convention. This is another face of terrorism. Many suspects who attended this convention are behaving indecently with the doctors and health professionals. They are to be treated as anti-nationals," said Shobha.

"If anyone who has participated in the said meeting is found in the district of Udupi the same shoud be reported to the police," she added.

"Food kits are being disributed to door step of migrant workers. In Bengaluru, a lot of philantropists have come forward to donate goods. But as there are no trucks distributing them to other districts, it is creating a probelm. The district administration is working relentlessly day and night to control the pandemic. I thank all of them."

Where is the guidelines to wear the mask? Here, every dick and harry is wearing N95 mask with consequential severe shortage. N95 mask which costs Rs. 70/- is sold currently for Rs. 550/- and there are no stocks even for doctors and medical staff. As per ICMR guidelines, people with Covid symptoms, those taking care of Covid patients and medical professionals should use such protective masks and anybody else doing this is spoiling the demand situation....!

I have been told that people in Bangladesh have to wear mask otherwise, would be taken for custody. Secondly, I don't really the mentality Karnataka's BJP. I assume BJP isn't a political party but a a joke. Hilariously, speaking, this idiotic lady needs some treatment. I leave it to your imagination on what treatment does she deserve!
