Udupi, Apr 4: Kits consisting of items of daily use were distributed under the guidance of district administration to nearly 1,000 poor families of daily wage workers and migrants who do not have ration cards. The kits were donated in the form of prasada by Krishna math seers Sri Vishwatheertha Sripada and Sri Ishapriya Theertha Sripada upon request by MLA Raghupathi Bhat.

The kits will be distributed in respective areas as directed by tahsildar Pradeep Kurdekar and tahsildar Kiran on guidance from deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha. Members of management of the math were present on the occasion.

The deputy commissioner said that several poor and destitute are receiving help from donors in the district. “There is no dearth for donors. The district administration will come to rescue if there is scarcity of donors. Nobody should remain hungry. We are working in this connection,” he said.

MLA Raghupathi Bhat expressed congratulations to the temple seers for their noble gesture on the occasion.
