Bengaluru: Siddaramaiah unhappy with MPs allocating MPLADS for corona control

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Apr 3: Former Karnataka chief minister, Siddaramaiah, through a series of tweets, has questioned the propriety of the members parliament (MP) diverting funds from the MP Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) fund to PM Care Fund meant for regulating spread of coronavirus. He has termed this as violation of rules and injustice to the voters of respective constituencies.

He observed that national president of the BJP J P Nadda, showed his responsibility and immaturity by directing the BJP MPs to donate one crore rupees from MPLADS fund and one lac rupees from their salary towards the PM Care Fund. "It is the responsibility of every MP to donate to chief minister's relief fund. Coronavirus is not limited to any particular area or state. All the states are facing hardships. The MPLADS funds are meant to be disbursed through the deputy commissioner for getting development works in the respective areas executed," he observed.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who meted out injustice to Karnataka by not sharing grants for which the state was rightfully eligible, has again forced the state to go begging for funds by transferring more money to the centre. I learnt that the BJP MLAs from Karnataka have to donate one month's salary to PM Care Fund. Yediyurappa has been requesting people to donate to the cause of coronavirus control. This is ridiculous and reflects bondage," he commented.
