Chandigarh, Apr 2 (IANS): Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said 725 people have been kept under quarantine after returning to the state from attending a religious congregation of Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi's Nizamuddin.

A total of 1,277 attendess, including 107 foreigners, have been identified in five districts, he said, adding that the passports of foreign nationals have been confiscated.

FIRs have been registered against them, said Khattar while speaking at a video conferencing of Chief Ministers addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from New Delhi.

He said the state has decided to roll-out telemedicine services to provide better access to healthcare services to those people who are unable to visit hospitals.

Apart from this, Covid-19 hospitals have been set up at 14 places with bed strength of 3,000, Khattar said, while adding that there is adequate stock of personal protective equipment kits and orders for additional 2.50 lakh kits have been placed.

Emphasising the need of rapid testing, he said the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) should further augment the testing facilities to effectively combat the coronavirus.

The Chief Minister said about 13,500 people have been kept under surveillance.

The samples of 817 people who have come in contact with positive coronavirus patients have been taken out of which 546 samples are found negative.

He said at present there are 20 positive cases in the state and out of the total 33 cases, 13 have been discharged.

Regarding the migrant labourers, the Chief Minister said 13,000 migrant labourers have taken shelter.
