Kasargod: Affect of closure of state border leads to another death

Kasargod, Apr 2: It is said that a woman lost her life as she could not be taken to hospitals at Mangaluru because of the closure of the state border with Karnataka at Talapady.

The victim was Baby (59), wife of Mahabala Shetty from Toominadu near Talapady. She was the seventh person to have lost her life on account of health problems due to the closure of the road to Mangaluru.

Baby suffered from high blood pressure. She was admitted into a hospital at Kumble but there were no advanced facilities to treat her, it is said. Even though she was asked to be admitted into a hospital at Mangaluru, she could not be taken there on account of travel restrictions, it is learnt.
