Sullia: FIR filed against 'Home Quarantine' person for roaming freely

Sullia, Apr 1: A person, who arrived from overseas and was home quarantined for suspected coronavirus infection, was found to violate the instructions and roam freely at Arelthadiya under Savanoor gram panchayat limits near here. A case is registered against the person in the Bellare police station of the taluk.

The said person had arrived from abroad a few days ago. He was instructed to be in home quarantine for 14 days. District administration has released a list in which the name of the violator was also there. When the team comprising of officials of home department, revenue department and gram panchayat visited his house, he was not available at his home.

On inquiry with the members of the family, the team of officials came to know that he has gone out of the house. It is also said that the said person behaved rudely with the officials later. So a case is filed in Bellare police station accusing him of violating the lockdown and home quarantine norms.
