Bengaluru, Mar 27: During the last two days, 13 new coronavirus positive cases emerged in the state. With this, the number of people suffering from this disease in Karnataka has gone up to 55.
On Wednesday, nine new cases were identified. On Thursday, four cases, one each from Mysuru and Chikkaballapur districts and two from the city were confirmed.
A 35-year-old Mysuru-based man who was tested positive for COVID 19, had not travelled to a foreign country nor did he have direct contact with those who came from abroad. He works in the quality control department of a pharmaceutical company based in Nanjangud. He however had contact with medical experts, it is said. Medical investigation in this case has been undertaken.
The woman, who was diagnosed with this virus infection from Chikkaballapur had returned from Mecca pilgrimage on March 14. She died on Wednesday. A person from Andhra had toured Himachal Pradesh before returning to the city via Puttaparthi on March 21. The other person is a security guard who had direct contact with a person from the city who returned to India from London on March 13.
