AICTE gives Rs 10 lac for NMAMIT's hybrid, electric vehicles

Karkala, Mar 18: AICTE, New Delhi has sanctioned Rs 10 lac to the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte for developing hybrid and electric vehicles under MODROB-Rural scheme.

The activities connected to the development of these electric vehicles will be carried out in the newly started ‘Hybrid, Electric Vehicle and Solar Charging Laboratory’. The principal Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar stated that the additional support required would be provided by the management of Nitte Group. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is already working on a wideband gap power electronics technologies using SiC and GaN semiconductor technology.
