New Delhi, Feb 26: Former BJP MLA Kapil Mishra has been accused of inciting violence in the capital which resulted in causing major unrest. AAP corporator Reshma Nadeem and councillor Haseeb ul Hasan have lodged complaints against the BJP functionary.
According to the police, the written complaints state that Mishra incited people by his inflammatory speeches which led to the chaos.
However, as of now, no action has been taken against him. On the other hand, a special branch report of Delhi Police claims that rioters at Chandbagh Mazaar who opened fire on the police and indulged in violence were linked to the Popular Front of India (PFI). A name of the senior office member of the PFI, resident of Shaheen Bagh has also been mentioned.
The violence in Delhi has entered its third day and the death toll has reached 17, with several others injured. Reports allege that most of the deaths were due to gunshot wounds.
