Mangaluru: Sahyadri's Space Apps Challenge provides opportunity to visit NASA USA

Mangaluru, Feb 25: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management is organizing a zonal level contest for NASA Space Apps Challenge on Saturday February 29 on Sahyadri campus, here.

Space Apps is an annual NASA’s global hackathon, first held in 2012, and serves as innovation, incubation and civic engagement programme. Space Apps Challenge is an opportunity to solve massive problems we are facing in today’s day and age.

The challenge invites teams of 2-8 who are pursuing any course above the 12th grade (PUC+2 both technical and non-technical) to present their ideas on the predefined fields.

The teams are to present their ideas to a jury consisting of various professionals who have been part of big conglomerates across the world. The teams with the best ideas will qualify for state-level contest and an all-expense-paid trip to NASA for the international contest.

General category of participation:

All the participants will receive a 'Certificate of Participation' from NASA. The best teams will be awarded internships at leading corporates in a field of their choice.

Special category: To encourage women participants, all the women contestants will receive a 'Women Innovator Certificate' from NITI Aayog. NITI abbreviates to National Institute of Transforming India. It is India’s most premier think tank which is established to achieve sustainable development goals. It launched the Women Entrepreneurship Programme (WEP) in 2018 to provide an economy of entrepreneurship that does not face barriers of gender bias.
