Kundapur, Feb 24: Kundapur block Congress has written to chief minister B S Yediyurappa to release at once funds pending for eighteen months for various housing projects in Kundapur taluk.

Kundapur block Congress president H Hariprasad Kanmakki in his appeal stated that Rs 1,87,63,691 for Basavi Vasati project and Rs 35,20,458 for 87 houses under the Ambedkar Nivas project, altogether Rs 2,22,84,149 were approved in Kundapur taluk two years ago.

"The beneficiaries had gone ahead to construct houses in anticipation of the amounts. They are facing the situation of stopping the work halfway after beginning the work of foundation and slab as they have not received funds for the last eighteen months. Those who were anticipating the money for constructing houses are devastated. It will be difficult to face the upcoming elections. Therefore, the funds should be released immediately," he stated.
