Milagres College, Kallianpur conducts inter-collegiate elocution competition

Udupi, Feb 24: Milagres College, Kallianpur organized an inter-collegiate elocution competition here, recently in memory of its founder, Msgr D J D'Souza. Fr Dr Lawrence C D’Souza, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions inaugurated the program and said, "The topic selected for the competition is a burning issue. Being educated people, it is our responsibility to understand CAA and NRC properly. Before speaking for or against these issues, we should know the pros and cons of them."

Prof Sophia Dias, dean of the faculty of languages presided over the program and said, "Participating in events like this builds up the confidence of the students."

Venkatesh Prasad R Hegde of Poornaprajna Evening College, Udupi secured first place, Ananya Rai NR of St Agnes College, Mangaluru secured the second place and Amogh Hegde of Poornaprajna Evening College, Udupi secured the third place in the individual category. Poornaprajna Evening College, Udupi bagged the overall championship trophy and Vaikunta Baliga College of Law bagged the runner-up trophy. 

Sherwin Olivera president of SWC, Surakshitha secretary of SWC and Rencita cultural secretary were present on the dais. Dr Herald Monis director of SWC welcomed the gathering. Prof Chandrika director of SWC proposed the vote of thanks. Rimza and Lalith compered the program.
