Puttur, Feb 24: After a truck and a Maruti Omni van got involved with head-on collision at Kavu Junction on Mani - Mysuru highway on Sunday February 23, the person who was driving the van lost his life. The victim was Narayana Jois (64), a resident of Kodippady.
Jois was going to Perampady to attend a programme there, when a lorry which was coming from the direction of Sullia hit his vehicle hard. Jois suffered serious injuries in the accident. His relatives, who were coming from behind in another vehicle, took him to a hospital in the city. At the advice of the doctors there, he was taken to Mangaluru but he breathed his last before reaching the hospital.
A case about the accident was registered in the rural police station here. The police have begun investigation.
