Government should form a trust for mosque too: Pawar

Lucknow, Feb 19 (IANS): Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar on Wednesday said that the government should provide the funds for the mosque in Ayodhya.

"The BJP is dividing people on communal lines. If the government can form a trust for the temple, why can it not give funds for the mosque too by forming another trust?" he asked.

Pawar was here on Wednesday to attend the state conference of his party.

Speaking at the function he said that the budget for Uttar Pradesh for the next financial year had nothing for farmers. "The government has announced a monthly sop for the youth but it is doubtful whether the money will reach them. The need of the hour is to give the youth the right to work," he said.

Pawar pointed out that it was mainly because of lack of opportunities that the youth was migrating to cities like Mumbai in search of livelihood.

He called upon NCP workers to work for bringing a change in the state and the country.

"People are fed up with the BJP and despite a high-profile campaign in Delhi, the party failed to make its mark," he said.

He also called upon all non-BJP parties to join hands and throw the BJP out of power like they had done in Maharashtra.

Pawar accused the BJP of playing the divide and rule policy and said that the CAA was an example of this.
