Mangaluru: SAC students win 2nd place at 'Abhinayotsava - 2020'

Mangaluru, Feb 5: The students of Dramatics Association of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) secured second place for the play, ‘Nattirulaata’ during the 3-day State Level Drama Competition 'Abhinayotsava 2020' organized by AbhinayaSagara (R) on January 30-31 and on February 1, 2020, held at Kagodu Thimmappa Rangamandira, Sagara.

Maghana Kundapura, III B Sc, received 'Best Actress' award for the role of ‘Lady Macbeth’ and Manish Pinto, I B Voc, received ‘Best Actor’ award for the role of ‘Macbeth’.



The play was a translated version of Shakespeare’ 'Macbeth' by HS Shivaprakash and was directed by Viddu Uchil.

Besides this, the students participated in ‘Rangasanchara’ and showcased a skit depicting the theme of ‘Fishermen’s Life’ in the streets of Sagara and won third place. 

About Dramatics Association

During the past many years, the dramatics association of St Aloysius College has actively involved in the theatre work and has played quite a number of Dramas and won laurels. The members of the dramatics association have been encouraged and trained by the experts.

St Aloysius College (Autonomous) is always encouraging the students to take part in extracurricular activities like theatre, art, singing and dance, within and outside the college. St Aloysius College (Autonomous) has provided full-fledged infrastructure facilities within the college so that the students can make the best use of it. Ample opportunities are made available for students to develop their God-given talents in different capacities.
