Haveri: Ready to marry, senior citizen asks GP to find suitable match

Daijiworld Media Network - Haveri (SP)

Haveri, Feb 1: A 63-year-old unmarried man now has become desirous of starting a family. He has handed over an application to the gram panchayat, asking it to find a girl for him. This incident happened in Naregal village of Hangal taluk in Haveri district.

The panchayat officials, who were accustomed to getting applications for residences under housing scheme, benefits under government schemes etc, were surprised to receive a request seeking help in finding a bride for the old man. The fact that he has already reached 63, does not seem have dithered him from deciding to marry.

This story is not a fiction. In an application made to the gram panchayat (GP) president and panchayat development officer, Dyamanna Kammar (63) has sought a girl who belongs to his own caste so that he can marry her. He has said that he is aa priest of Dyamavva shrine, he is unmarried, and his search for a suitable girl so far has failed. "I have no one to cook food. Therefore, I am willing to marry. You have to find a girl for my marriage," he has said in the application.

The president and panchayat development officer have received Dyamanna's application and issued acknowledgement. Some gram panchayat members too have supported Dyamanna's application by signing it.

    Hei Man
Give thanks to God for what you are today
Many men trying to run away from married life and you are trying to get married
    Please don't do that mistake
Keep one female care taker for you
And enjoy rest of your life
Since you are above 60 nobody will suspect you if you keep a young girl
    Wish you good luck

If you are suggesting caretaker, why especially female ? Why not male ?

Pay wages and employ. Don't seek free service.

He had enough time to realize his needs in life and to settle happily. At 63 he desires to get married just to cook for him is nothing but a foolish wish. If someone were endowed with wealth, the matter would have been different. The GP and the well-wishers rather arrange with some social organization to enroll him to be under their care.

Cook, okay. But he wants a female cook.

In Vicky donor film, doctor advises the donor, not to get married while he is donating sperms. Vicky asked doctor why he is married. Doctor told him, not to confuse and said "The woman is my cook, but if she thinks I am her husband, what can I do ?"

    Getting maid also is problem:
Govt does not allow below 15
Wife does not allow between 15 and 40
Husband does not allow above 40.

Why so hurry for the marriage? Take your own time, think, find a suitable bride and marry.
Should not hurry to get married because some times selection may go wrong.
    Best of luck.

    Dear Mr Kammar

I want to tell you that the wedding ring is the smallest hand-cuff ever made. Choose your prison mate wisely. I hope your marriage to be full of happiness and good surprises.

A rich man of 65, got married to a beautiful girl and all the guests were surprised how he could get such a young and beautiful girl. He told them that he lied to the girl that he is 80.

No criticism on this 63-year-old unmarried man of his desirous of getting married.

He quoted that "I have no one to cook food “. If that’s the case then better to hire a maid/cook.

"I have no one to cook food. Therefore, I am willing to marry. " by marrying, instead of finding some one who will cook, he may end up trying to find a third person to cook for him and his wife...

In that case we should defiantly support him coz he is creating Job Market at least for one person, which Govt. contentiously failed to do.
