Mangaluru: Artiste Kadri Ramachandra Bhat conferred with Kundeshwar Samman award

Mangaluru, Jan 28: Karkala Hirgana Kundeshwar Temple presented the Kundeshwar Samman Award to artiste Kadri Ramachandra Bhat Elloor, as part of their fair.

Yakshagana artiste Patla Sathish Shetty who presented the award said that they are conducting four Yakshagana plays in a day. “We feel satisfied when children and youth artistes present professional acting skills. Teach Yakshagana free for children. It is a valuable contribution to young talents. The programme that gives opportunities to young talents is a good example,” he said.

Kadri Ramachandra Bhat responding to the award said that he feels content after witnessing the performance of his students. Kalkura Foundation President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura presided over the programme.

Artiste Ujire Ashok Bhat, Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Saudi Bahrain unit president Rajesh Shetty and programme organiser Jithendra Kundeshwar spoke congratulating the award winner.

Entrepreneurs Muniyal Udayakumar Shetty, Sachidananda Edamale, Mangaluru Urban Development Authority Commissioner Srikanth Rao, entrepreneur Kunjathodi Vasudev Bhat Kadri, Upendra Rao, temple management representative Ganga Raghavendra Bhat and Sudheendra Bhat were present.

Professor K P Laxminarayana sang the prayer song. Vedamurthy Krishnarajendra Bhat welcomed the gathering. Jitendra Bhat Kundeshwar compered the programme.

Felicitation

Pravin Acharya Nellikatte, artiste who has featured in Bale Thelipale and Mahabharatha was felicitated. Bhargava Vijaya was performed under the leadership of artiste Sathish Shetty. Karkala Sindhoor artistes performed Tulu drama ‘Panoditthundu’.

Irvathur Srinivas Joisa, who retired after serving as temple priest, was honoured.
