Indore, Jan 26: Republic Day celebrations turned ugly at Indore in Madhya Pradesh, after two Congress leaders got into a physical fight during the flag hoisting ceremony.
Congress leaders Devendra Singh Yadav and Chandu Kunjir entered into a verbal spat at the flag hoisting ceremony held at the party office in Indore. The fight soon turned physical after they tried to slap each other.
The duo was separated by the police and people tried to pacify them and they eventually calmed down.
Eyewitnesses told PTI that the two began fighting when Kunjir went close to the stage and Yadav objected.
The incident took place minutes before Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath arrived to hoist the tricolour.
A video of the fight is currently doing the rounds on social media. Though the Congress returned to power in Madhya Pradesh in December 2018, the infighting between supporters of former CM Digvijaya Singh, CM Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia has been making news time and again.
